Question
Does Rivly collect sales tax for its sellers?
Answer
Rivly collects and remits sales tax on behalf of all sellers for orders in certain states given marketplace facilitator rules.
However, outside of these states, Rivly can collect sales tax on behalf of the seller for states where the seller has designated us to do so in their "Sales Tax Settings."
By default, Rivly collects sales tax based on the delivery address of the customer. Most states in the US use this “destination-based” sales tax collection. However, if your business needs to collect “origin-based” sales tax, please use the custom tax rate override to make the appropriate changes so that Rivly collects tax at a fixed rate for all of your orders to a certain state.
Over the next years, Rivly will be registering in each state in accordance with marketplace facilitator laws and will then collect sales tax on behalf of all sellers for the rest of the states. You will be notified when this change occurs for your state.
