Great product images help shoppers understand your product, build trust, and drive more sales. Rivly’s image standards are constructed to keep the marketplace clean, consistent, and high-quality.
Use the guidelines below to make sure your images are approved on the first try.
Main Image Requirements
Your main image is the most important image on your listing. It appears in search results and on the product page, so it should clearly and accurately show the product being sold.
File Specifications
Minimum size: 500 × 500 pixels
Optimal size: 2000 × 2000 pixels
Accepted formats: PNG, JPG, PDF, WEBP
Image quality: High resolution, sharp, and clear
Lighting & Quality
Use good, even lighting so the product is clearly visible
Avoid dark, blurry, grainy, or overexposed images
Product details and colors should appear accurate and natural
Background & Composition
Background: White background preferred
Product size: Product should fill 80% or more of the image when possible (depending on product shape)
Product visibility: The full product should be centered and unobstructed
Content Restrictions (Main Image)
The main image must not include:
Text or text overlays of any kind
Logos, branding, or watermarks
Graphic overlays (icons, arrows, badges, seals, etc.)
Promotional elements (pricing, discounts, claims, comparisons)
Borders or frames
Multiple products if only one unit is being sold
Additional Image Requirements
Additional images give you the opportunity to show your product from different angles and in real-world use (lifestyle photos).
File Specifications
Recommended size: Same as main image (up to 2000 × 2000 pixels)
Accepted formats: PNG, JPG, PDF, WEBP
Content Guidelines
Good lighting and clear focus are strongly recommended
Lifestyle images, close-ups, and detail shots are allowed as well as graphic designs
Images should accurately represent the product and what’s included
No additional restrictions beyond file size, format, and prohibited content
Prohibited Image Content (All Images)
To keep Rivly a trusted marketplace, the following content is not allowed in any product images, including both main and additional images:
False, misleading, or exaggerated claims
Pricing, discounts, coupons, or promotional messaging
Competitor comparisons or references to other marketplaces
Inappropriate, offensive, or explicit content
Hate symbols or discriminatory imagery
Medical, health, or performance claims that cannot be substantiated
References to warranties, guarantees, or certifications not officially provided
Contact information, URLs, QR codes, or social media handles
Stock images that do not accurately represent the actual product being sold
Images should clearly and honestly show what the customer will receive.
General Best Practices
Use bright, even lighting and a clean setup
Show the exact product and variation being sold
Avoid props or accessories that are not included unless clearly shown for demonstration
Keep images professional, simple, and easy to understand
