Sellers decide who can sell their registered brand
At Rivly we like to give private label brands more control over their brand presence on the platform. When a brand owner registers ownership of their brand by proving ownership of the trademark, they can then control all aspects of their brand listings on the platform. Also after the brand is registered, any new inquiring sellers will send the brand owner an application to sell their brand allowing the brand owner to make the decision, not Rivly.
Something to note, anyone who has been selling the brand prior to brand registry will be grandfathered in and still able to sell these products. We believe that anyone that comes onto Rivly early and helps build value for your brands should be able to stay on the marketplace.
How to register your trademarked brand
To register ownership of your brand on Rivly, you must:
- have a USPTO registered word mark that is an exact match for your brand name (only US registration is accepted)
- have a USPTO registration number for your brand (serial numbers with applications pending approval are not accepted)
- be the listed owner of your word mark on the USPTO.gov website OR provide information that verifies your ownership
In cases of uncertainty, we will reach out to let you know that we emailed a passcode to the listed contact email address on file with the USPTO. You must reply to our email with the correct passcode to assist in verifying your ownership for approval.
Special permissions with your registered brand
In your Rivly seller portal, once you have registered your brand, you will have access to additional features to help you manage your brand. These can include:
- add/edit your brand content that appears on your dedicated brand page and throughout the shopping experience
- approve or deny applications submitted by any sellers that would like to sell products in your brand going forward
- obtain listing control over all the listings on our marketplace that you are currently selling, so you can edit the content of those listings to best represent your products and brand
