All prices on Rivly must include free 3-5 day standard shipping to the continental United States. This gives shoppers a consistent checkout experience and avoids separate shipping charges being added later.
If you received an order and shipping was not added separately, this is expected. Rivly does not add a separate domestic standard shipping charge to shopper orders. Instead, your product prices should already include enough margin to cover standard shipping.
How to add a shipping cost to products imported from Shopify
If your Shopify prices do not already include shipping, you can easily add a fixed amount or percentage to your Rivly prices from your Shopify integration settings.
To update your prices:
- Log in to your Rivly Seller Portal.
- Go to your Shopify integration settings.
- Set the fixed dollar amount or percentage you want added to your Shopify prices on Rivly.
- Click Save.
- Click Update existing SKUs from Shopify and be sure that you turn on price updates.
This will re-sync your existing Shopify SKUs and update your Rivly prices using your Shopify product prices plus the additional fixed amount or percentage you selected.
Example
If a product is $25.00 in Shopify and you add a fixed $5.00 shipping adjustment, the product price on Rivly will update to $30.00.
If you use a percentage instead, Rivly will apply that percentage increase to your Shopify price when syncing the price to Rivly.
Important notes
- This setting helps you build standard domestic shipping costs into your Rivly product prices.
- Price sync from Shopify to Rivly should remain enabled if you want Rivly prices to continue updating from Shopify.
- The Update existing SKUs from Shopify tool updates existing SKUs only. It does not import new SKUs.
- New SKUs must still be imported separately using the Shopify product importer.
- In the future, Rivly plans to support a more advanced shipping integration using Shopify shipping policies.
How to add a shipping cost to non-Shopify products
If your products were imported from Amazon or manually created in Rivly, you have a few options for updating your prices.
First, if your product prices are sync'd to Amazon, turn off your Amazon FBM price sync in your Amazon settings on the Rivly Integrations page. This will allow you to set a different price on Rivly that includes a shipping cost.
Next, you can head to the Product List page and checkbox any listings that need to be updated, then use the bulk action button to add a fixed dollar amount or percentage to all those prices. You can also do this individually by updating the price on the page and clicking to save changes.
If you have 1000s of products, then the easiest for you would be to use our bulk files (spreadsheets). The link is found at the top of the Product List page and you will be able to download your current products in a bulk file, make edits, then upload the newly edited bulk file to change prices for as many products as needed. Note that in large catalogs, it can take hours to generate a bulk file populated with all of your data and to subsequently process a newly uploaded large file.
Why was shipping not added to my order?
Shipping was not added separately because Rivly requires product prices to include free standard shipping to the continental United States. To avoid this issue on future orders, the quickest fix depends on if your products are connected to Shopify or Amazon.
If they are connected to Shopify, you can easily update your Shopify integration pricing settings to add a shipping cost to all prices on Rivly and then run Update existing SKUs from Shopify so our import updater will change the Rivly catalog to reflect prices that include your shipping cost.
If they are Amazon FBM products or ones that were manually added to Rivly, you can turn off your Amazon FBM price sync in your Amazon settings then use the bulk action button on the Product List page to add a fixed amount or percentage to any checkboxed listings.
